As you might can tell, looking at the archive, this blog has been on hiatus. And oh, what a hiatus it has been.
I can’t go into full details yet, as those are subject to change, but I am currently proofreading the final draft of my first novel. I’ve been calling the book LICH, but I’m certain that it will change by publication.
If you haven’t heard of LICH before now, there are multiple places to learn about it. I’ve posted about the story on Twitter, especially in the #WIPjoy events. Take a look.
LICH is the story of a necromancer, and a particularly good one at that. Her name is Thana, and she is in high school. The key to her character is that she comes from a Christian family, and has embraced a strong moral standard for herself.
How does that mesh with her necromancy? When crap hits the fan, how can she cling to her beliefs while still using dark magic to keep herself, and her friends, alive?
LICH is an adventure, an urban fantasy book with some high school drama in it as well. It’s not quite a horror, despite all the zombies and skeletons that keep showing up.
It’s some pretty fun stuff, and I look forward to releasing trailers, previews, giveaways, and so forth.
I do have publishing plans lined up. A more experienced writer, publisher, and friend is guiding me through the process. Our goal is to have the book on virtual shelves in 3-4 months. We’ll see how that goes. Stay tuned here and on my Twitter for updates.
I have a few other drafts in the wheelhouse, but I won’t dilute this post with unnecessary information about them. Suffice to say that LICH probably won’t be the only book I release in the next year.
I’ll certainly be looking to push forward with my blog as well, and perhaps find some bloggers to give ARCs to.
So, do you have anything exciting to hint at or announce? Any cool plans for the future? I’d love to hear about them!
See you around,
Kyle Adams
