What Am I Doing?

This last month has been slow. For my sake, I need to remind myself of my progress. Where I am, and where I am going. This may become a semi-monthly kind of post.

Disbelief Suspended:
It has been a month since I finished the first draft of this story. There are a couple of people I know, not writers, that are currently giving me some form of feedback. In the meantime, I am taking a break so that I can approach the book with a fresh mind. Once I have a second draft done, I will be looking for critique from other writers.

Godless:
In my short break from writing, I have been putting together an outline document for Godless, my next novel. It is coming along very well. I’m getting to the point where it’s difficult to plan out much further knowing that things will change as I write the book. Soon, I will take up the story where I left off.

What Lies In Me:
I have been posting an old story of mine on Wattpad. So far, I have posted seven chapters, out of a draft of twenty-five. While the story isn’t perfect, it is getting reads and I am hoping that any feedback will help me to strengthen it. More chapters are incoming, and I’m trying to get at least one out a week.

Social presence:
I’ve got 50 new friends on Twitter, and I’m reaching out to interact with them more. More retweeting, more comments, and I really need to post more often, but I’m getting there!

Reading:
I recently finished the Lorien Legacies series, a decent set of young adult books. Currently I am weaving through DRRR x4, a port of a Japanese Light Novel. DRRR is a fascinatingly written series, and I highly recommend it.

Well, that’s about all I’ve got going on, excluding the short story that I’m still waiting to hear back about. My career job workload is up this month, and I took a vacation, but I am still moderately pleased with my progress. August will be even better.

See you around!

  1. One of my favorite quotes is: “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”- MLKJ.

    Keep making progress!
