The Beginning

Welcome to this new website, or old website, if you are reading the archives.

You can find more about me on the About Me page, so I’m not going to go in-depth about myself or this site here. All that you need to know is that I am an Author, I have written/am writing several books, and the published books will be posted on this blog. In the meantime, I’m going to post to this blog with short stories and… well, blog posts. To keep this first blog post from being boring, here is a story I whipped up:

file0001767856091My tongue flicked out and licked the chocolate-filled cherry sucker I held in front of me. I savored the taste, waiting for the moment when the outside would fall away and I could crunch through to the chewy chocolate. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught one of my coworkers staring at me. She was a beautiful woman, a few years my senior. I popped the sucker back into my mouth and placed my hands back on my keyboard, ready to continue work. Still, she watched me.

“Are you enjoying that?” she finally asked, smirking.

“Yeah,” I replied, rolling the stick of the sucker through my teeth. The ball ended up in my other cheek. “Did you bring these?”

“Maybe,” she said. “Why?”

“So I can tell my wife who to blame when I come home with chocolate on my breath, and cherry stains on my collar.”

“Oh?” she said, in a sultry voice. “Are you really on a diet?”

“Of some sort,” I replied, spinning in my chair to face her. “I don’t get along with it very well most of the time.”

The most seductive of sweets

“Well, in that case, tomorrow I will bring the biggest, most delectable chocolate cake that I can find. You know, one of the ones with multiple layers, resting in fudge and as rich and sweet as the sugar can make them.”

“Go on,” I said, feeling my self-control ebb away. She walked towards me, leaned in closer, and obliged.

“Decorative icing will top off the cake, spelling out your name,” she said, smiling. She was close enough now that I could smell peppermint.

“Mhm,” she said. “And right next to that will be a carton of ice cream.”

“What kind?” My mouth sags, watering slightly, and I lean forwards.

“But… but what about my diet?” I say, attempting to resist. She catches on quickly, understanding my true desires. My passions. My love.

“What about it? Your wife will never have to know. It’ll just be you and the cake.”

“Please,” I whisper, holding my hand out. I grab a peanut butter cup off of the desk next to her and begin to unwrap it. “I need this.”

“You deserve it,” she replied.

I reached the chocolate in the sucker.

See you around!
